Quote of the Week [QOTW]: 2011 Week 3

"Time goes, you say? Ah no! Alas, Time stays, we go" Henry Austin Dobson, Poet, 1840-1921.

Time featured heavily this weekend. Not because I have two wonderful and absorbing children under the age of three. Not because I needed to finish off a work assignment. Not even because I had my mother and friends stay over and share with us Sunday dinner. No, time featured heavily this weekend because I found some photographs and video footage of my 3-year-old daughter which captured moments of just yesterday and yet she had not learned to walk, or talk, let alone swim or perform her ballet routine. And that yesterday was two years ago.

Time is such a precious commodity and yet it’s one we all frequently wish away as we urge winter to pass and summer to arrive; as we dare the clock to tick ever faster stuck in some anonymous airport; as we eagerly await years to be added to our age in some vain hope of receiving a company pay-out or package.

One day we will all be gone and yet time will still be here. Savour it, use it wisely and enjoy every waking second.
