Top 5 Books for 2011

Here is my list of top five books for 2011. Some old, some new, some with focus on self-development, others on leadership but all great reads.

1. :59 Seconds  A simple yet effective guide to self-development based on scientific method.
2. Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy  Whilst this book is targeted at the treatment of depression without the use of drugs the techniques contained within can be equally applied to the everyday mental stresses and strains faced by every senior leader.

3. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion  As the title suggests a great handbook to becoming a more powerful negotiator and influencer not by under-hand tricks but through understanding how humans work and playing to those predictabilities.
4. The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving the Heart of Conflict  A hopeful and inspirational guide to resolving misunderstandings and conflicts
5. Our Iceberg is Melting: Changing and Succeeding Under Any Conditions  A playful yet insightful book describing how to make change a reality whatever the circumstances.
